Nzembi wins East Africa ssuperwoman award

By GASTONE VALUSI

Stella Nzembi, a hopeful MP aspirant for Kangundo, has been named the Most Outstanding Philanthropist and Entrepreneur in Kenya of the Year 2026 during the 7th Edition of the East Africa Superwoman Awards.
The award was presented during a gala ceremony held at the Argyle Grand Hotel, where women leaders from across East Africa were recognised for their impact in business, leadership and community service.
Nzembi said the recognition belonged to the people of Kangundo.
“Yesterday was a great honour for me to join other super women across East Africa in celebrating outstanding women’s achievements,” she said.
“I was proudly awarded the Most Outstanding Philanthropist and Entrepreneur in Kenya 2026. I sincerely congratulate the great people of Kangundo for making me recognised in East Africa. This is the true definition of love, unity and determination towards a better tomorrow.”
She said the award had motivated her to expand her development initiatives in the constituency ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“We are looking forward to achieving more and most importantly changing the lives of the people of Kangundo through service and empowerment. May God bless Kangundo and her people,” she said.
Nzembi has been actively supporting women groups, youth initiatives and small businesses across Kangundo, with a focus on economic empowerment and job creation.
The East Africa Superwoman Awards celebrate women driving change in leadership, entrepreneurship and philanthropy across the region.
The aspiring MP said she would also champion women empowerment programmes aimed at reducing unemployment among vulnerable groups.
“I have a clear agenda to address the key issues facing vulnerable groups, including women, children, youth and persons with disabilities whose lives have been made difficult by both natural and man-made challenges,” she added.
She also pledged to prioritise the education and agriculture sectors if elected MP.
Nzembi noted that the constituency had lagged behind in development due to declining performance in the two sectors, which she said had contributed to rising poverty levels over the years.
“The future of the constituency lies in an educated population and reforms in the agricultural sector,” she said.
“I pledge to work with the people and other elected leaders to ensure more young people access higher education in order to establish stable and reliable human capital capable of converting knowledge into wealth.”
She further observed that Kangundo’s performance in national examinations had deteriorated in recent years, with only a few students securing admission to public universities while many others remained at home due to lack of funds to pursue technical and vocational training.
Nzembi said she had already begun engaging key stakeholders in the local education sector to explore ways of improving academic performance, adding that elected leaders have a crucial role to play in raising education standards in the constituency.
